What does it take to be an exceptional leader? Is exceptional leadership a talent that you’re born with or you’re not, or is it something that virtually anybody can acquire? These are some of the questions that the author Angela Sebaly, is trying to answer or point out in her book. She describes how to locate and nurture that seed of courage within yourself to be the kind of leader who inspires, motivates and guides their units, team, colleagues and organizations thru any circumstances that can be good or bad. You must have Courage to be a very courageous leader for a better you. This book gave me more insight on the training that has been provided to me by Angela Sebaly and her business partner Michelle Cummings “Personify Leadership” training. This book adds on to the tools they provided me in that training, which I do try to use every day in my leadership role.
In conclusion: The author Angela Sebaly, stated this good point: “On our path of courageous leadership it is simply this: The expectations we have of ourselves and the results we get are invariably similar things.” “That we all have a six-year old in us, ready to exceed everyone’s expectations. As we embark in our journey toward achieving our Big Dreams, we must call on that innocence and enthusiasm and know comfortably and without hesitation—we set our own expectations. Not a teacher, not a spouse, not a boss, not a friend. Decide what success looks like to you and expect it, and you will achieve
