Leadership, service, and character are three important qualities that help a person better themselves, help others, and realize that one small act can make a difference in a person’s life. In my life, especially as a teenager, I have always tried my best to be a positive influence on others through my attitude and actions. Even in times, when I am put in difficult situations I try to remain positive and find the calmest, best solution. Showing leadership, doing for others, and being a positive influence are all qualities and actions I strive to achieve in my life, if not every day.

When given this responsibility, I got to experience what it was like to be a leader, which helped me realize that being a leader is a major task in which you cannot do it alone, you need the help of others. As president of the student council, I had many tasks such as thinking of new ideas that we could do as a council, making agendas and lists, scheduling meetings, making sure the other officers were being productive, and making sure the council ran smoothly. While having so many responsibilities I realized that to run effectively, I needed to utilize the other officers of the council as effectively as I could.
