Leadership Scholarship Essay Examples

In my leadership journey at Florida Gulf Coast University, I am a Peer Coach for Student Support Services and Outreach Programs, a Peers CARE Educator for Prevention and Wellness, and an Emerging Eagles Mentor for the Multicultural and Leadership Development Office. As a Peer Coach, I serve to motivate and support eight first generation, low-income, and disabled students toward a successful transition into college. I acknowledge the possible tribulations that arise from students in disadvantaged backgrounds such as financial hardships, homesickness, and personal relationships. I am proactive in building meaningful relationships with my students that will develop into a lasting relationship of growth. I foster their leadership potential by instilling the healthy habits needed to become effective leaders in all aspects of their collegiate experience. I facilitate large and small group workshops to form fundamental interpersonal skills to accomplish common goals.
