I appreciated the clarity with which you approached this exploration of leadership roles for the DNP. Drawing from Chism, when you outline the steps to change and what the nurse can do and then acknowledge how political engagement is a natural fit for the DNP (p. 171). While it is easy to identify ways in which the DNP can lead through their work, I concur with your quote from the president of the ANA (2016) that the voice of nurses should be included at the decision making table. Moreover, I would take that a step further and suggest that nursing could be sitting at the head of the table.
