My perspective on leadership is the ability to lead others, effectively and ineffectively, through different techniques of communication. One of those techniques is the process of effective communication. Effective communication means to find a way to connect with each other through different ways. These habits are, be proactive, begin with the end in mind, put first things first, think win-win, seek first to understand, then to be understood, synergize, and sharpen the saw. To be proactive means to be responsible for the actions you take and reflect upon them. An example of me displaying the act of being proactive is when I am make errors during piano lessons. I take responsibility and reflect upon it through practice. To begin with the end in mind it means to think about what people will think of you when you are gone and how you want to impact others. I have been thinking more towards the near future when I apply for university or pick the career I want. I haven't been thinking a lot about the kind of impact I want to make on the world when I leave. As an individual I think of encouraging and helping others through my skills. That's an impact I want to make on the world. Putting first thing first is learning to prioritize what is most and least important for the time being. I am guilty for being a procrastinator, so what I do is I write down reminders and set goals in order to complete my tasks bit by bit so that I don't run into a mountain pile of stress at the end. So far I have been able to do it sometimes but not always. This is something I still need to work on. To think win-win is to have a solution where both parties have gained something out of that solution. A win-win situation
