The Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI) is a tool for assessing leadership ability. It enables individuals and organizations to measure their leadership competencies and act on their discoveries. This way Leaders will gain deep insight into how they see themselves as leaders, how others view them, and what actions they can take to improve their effectiveness. It is an important resource to asses one’s own ability to be a leader ("Leadership Practices Inventory - About LPI"). Growing up my teachers, family and friends have always told me that how I carry myself makes people want to strive for better. They told me that I serve as positive role model and people want to emulate me. In my current professions I have students and coworkers who depend on my leadership abilities to lead them and help them. One of my greatest joys in life is helping others. I like to see the potential that others have and work with them on making this potential grow so they can be who they really are and not who they think they are.
My weaknesses based off of these ratings are: challenging the process, inspiring a shared vision and encouraging the heart. At first glance I believed that encouraging the heart was similar to enabling others to act and modeling the way. But there are differences. Encouraging

Not because of ego or prestige but because I can contribute to and ever growing community. I wish to be a beacon of leadership and hope. I would like to be that person that people can go to and see and know everything will be alright now. To accomplish this I need to be in the forefront of things. I need to take on new roles and responsibilities. I must overcome my fear and doubts of being placed in a leadership role and trust in myself that I will be able to lead. If I make a promise, I must ensure that I keep that promise. By doing this people’s trust grow in my. But once I have that trust I must make sure that I never do anything to give the people any doubts about me or my ability. Being part of a team is a rewarding yet stressful task. It is rewarding because you can get different people from all walks of life come together for a common purpose. One of the biggest problems in team work is conflict. Conflict can happen is all forms but the key is how you resolve the conflict in a professional and efficient manner. The faster you are able to identify the conflict and understand the cause of it, the sooner you are able to resolve the conflict and move forward with from it and do your best that this conflict no longer happens. By creating an environment where you can air out your concerns without fear of repercussions, the group dynamic becomes better because everyone feels that they have a say and no one
