Being a leader is not as easy as it sounds. It is not something that comes naturally, one must work for it and prove themselves worthy. On page 14 of Peter F. Drucker’s book Leadership Now, he states, “Leadership is not magnetic personality—that can just as well be a glib tongue. It is not making friends and influencing people --that is flattery. Leadership is lifting a person's vision to higher sights, the raising of a person's performance to a higher standard, the building of a personality beyond its normal limitations.”

Being a leader is not a magnetic personality, as Peter Drucker said, it is being a good person and letting people make their own decisions based on facts, not influence and making friends. As a leader an individual is supposed

Martin Luther King, JR. was a leader because he was brave enough to speak out against the racism, the hate, the intolerance, and the human rights violations of his time. Rosa Parks is another example as a leader because she said no. She said no in a time where people of color could not say no. Rosa Parks had had enough of how she was treated because of the color of her skin and decided to try and change a view many people had. Rosa Parks was arrested because she said, “No.” Bernie Sanders is another leader. He marched next to Martin Luther King, JR. because he was tired of the hate and intolerance. These people are just a few examples of leaders, and they have made a huge difference in society today. People still overcome all of the obstacles in their daily lives and have the courage to say, “I am done being treated this way,” and bring change into everyone’s lives no matter the cause. A leader is a special kind of a person that is recognized by a whole community, or maybe only a few people. A leader is a person everyone should aspire to be. A leader is a person that is not afraid to stand up to a mass of people that are telling the leader they are wrong. Leaders help each other and impact one another by forming protests, rallies, and meetings that allow people who do not have a voice, or who are unable to have a voice, speak out about the intolerance, the hate, and the abuse many people face in their everyday
