First of all, he never comes through with his promises. Secondly, he will ask for the opinions of others but seldom does he consider them. It is not until he feels he is in a bind that he will reach out to his employees for help. In addition, he is a very insecure individual, he expects his employees to run the business for him with hardly any guidance given to his employees as to what procedures should be taken in certain situations. He does expect his employees to be accountable for their incorrect actions. He is a wonderful as a person, always there when employees are in a bind, but as a leader, he lacks direction and leadership style.
Analysis – Ray Ortega For Mr. Ortega, his many years of experience have taught him to value people and their ability to contribute to his success. “People basically mean everything, they are the basic element that we need to survive” he says. Mr. Ortega uses his core values (integrity, honesty and knowing when to change) to inspire and motivate others to reach their potential. He recalls an occasion where this young man was always doing the wrong things and in trouble with the law, Mr. Ortega reached for the opportunity to provide guidance, it was this guidance that lead this man to lead a successful life. “That success he has been able to share with others”, this kind of effect energize Mr. Ortega to keep reaching and fulfilling his purpose in life.
