Yet, research shows that the possession of certain traits alone does not guarantee a leader to be successful, there is an evidence that effective leaders are different from other people in certain key aspects. We believe that the leader traits help the leader to acquire necessary skills to formulate an organizational vision, create an effective plan, and take the necessary steps to implement his vision into reality. SELF CENTRED: Leaders who are busy pushing team into actions only with a sole purpose of taking the credit or for selfish reasons of getting promoted do not find the support of the team.
INCONSISTENCY: When leaders take actions which are not in line with what they preach or they frequently keep changing the goal posts by giving contradictory statements do not inspire confidence in team. The followers seem to be lost and end up losing energy in the process.
FINGER POINTING: If leaders take the credit for success but are quick to finger point to others for the failures, then the team will not take any risk or will not be creative or innovative. People will chose the path of least resistance in conforming to the standards.
FORCEFUL: If leaders are always interfering, micromanaging and pushing the team members, they will no longer be proactive and take initiatives. Rather, the reverse delegation will start happening and the team will generate a sub-optimal
