This specific research document will provide an in depth examination into the various entities that revolve around those who are in management positions in comparison to those who are in leadership positions with in the competitive world of sports. More specifically, this paper will highlight two positions or employment areas in the sports profession that consist of individuals who do more leading than managing. However, before one can even begin to acquire a definitive, yet comprehensive understanding of the various complexities that embody a strong differentiation between leaders and their managing counterparts, one must be able to apprehend and or distinguish between the two.
Furthermore, researchers consider leadership to be a dense topic in of it self because it consist of leaders, and their followers. Said individuals are encompassed by a situation that affects not only one group of individuals but also both parties. With that leadership can be defined as, “ a complex social form of problem solving that consist of, an agent that use his or her interpersonal relationship with sais individuals subordinate, with the intent of using that relationship to focus resources so that desirable opportunities are created”.
