Introduction to leadership and management

My case study will be based on leadership and management styles and the impact it has on employees/staff, the organisation I’ve chosen is Ethel Austins Ltd.
Ethel Austin was a British clothing retailer, it was first founded in the year of June 2002 in Liverpool, England. It had over three hundred stores but unfortunately the company ceased operation in year of January 2013 after numerous times entering administration.

Leadership and Management meaning

The main difference between leadership and management is that leaders have people follow them while managers have people who work for them.

However this prevented creativity, motivation and inspirational this type of management style promoted discipline in high stress environment or situations. For me as employee I noticed on most of the day that this caused rapidly deteriorate in team performance on some of the days .Although democratic style was used for some situation as different circumstance meant different approach, this technique promoted us the employees/staff to participation in the decision-making process to determine what needed to be done and how it should be done. However in my opinion It is clear that managers can use leadership or management styles that are appropriate for the situation,I also think that it is not only about which style you chose but also consider how effective these styles develop themselves and how they impact on the employees/staff. The effective approach would vary according to circumstances and individual
