To become a leader, one must have discipline, values, vision, and a strategy in place to reach the goal of one’s vision. Effective leadership takes a team to make it happen. Teams that incorporate certain characteristics working together to ensure successful leadership of a company. To bring a team together, leaders must communicate their vision and goals with people who are willing to work together to accomplish the overall success of the organization.

Like any job, usually you begin at the bottom, develop experience, and promote to a new level. In doing so, I developed a clear understanding of the tasks each level entailed. Beneficial to me was the fact that I did the labor jobs prior to stepping into management. Management came with many challenges. Longer hours, bank deposits, and records, scheduling employees, dealing with vendors, machinery malfunctions, the list is long. As manager, I was on the floor most of my entire shift.
