All leaders experience crucibles throughout their lives, however, it is not the crucible itself that defines you but how you reframe the learning experience. According to Pedro Algorta, there are three ways to deal with crucibles which include focusing on the event, living your life as nothing happened, and using the event to transform your wound into a pearl pg. 65. Those that utilize the first two approaches may experience post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) because they are not addressing the trauma head on, instead, they constantly relive the event.
