Lead, it surrounds and penetrates, it binds in water pipes and the walls of homes. With lead having been outlawed for several years now it still seems to be a real big problem in America. despite being aware of the problem many Americans and lawmakers seemed to have simply ignore the problem and pretend it wasn’t there.

Flint, Michigan was laced with lead and soon there were reports of children with higher blood levels of lead poisoning. Of course many people and politicians were outraged and tried to establish blame and demand a solution, but it seems like simply ripping pipe systems in Flint would not be enough to solve such problem. The points argued in this essay will give examples where increasing interest in lead poisoning will give to solve such issues like the Flint, Michigan water crisis 2016, which according to an article on MSNBC, 200 children under the age of 6 were reported to have high levels of lead in their blood, and 9000 others that were exposed to lead contaminants. Lead poisoning occurs when even small amounts of lead enters the body and causes various health problems primarily on young children (Mayo Clinic).
