1. The information I gained from the two videos is safety and the fear of their families and society not being acceptable of their lifestyle (Line, 2015) (Maddux, 2012). As well as the safety of their children because it impacts their lives as well because peers and others will make inappropriate comments about the lifestyle of their parents, which is why Charlotte is so concern about the children well-being. The video also clarifies why it is so difficult for elderly as well as teens to come out about their lifestyle in LBGT community because they do not want to be judged by others or called incongruous names for who they choose to have as a partner. Also, the case states how it is difficult for Mrs. Charlotte to find a job even after her great work ethic and her completion of the culinary training program and in the elderly video it stays how being LBGT was frowned upon back in the day and the same situation is going on with Mrs. Charlotte and her friends in this case. Also, making others aware of LBGT community and informing them about the differences in each group is something else I was cognizant of in these videos. Because so many individuals leak the knowledge of LBGT community. The prejudice that Mrs. Charlotte and her partner Mrs. Debra may face is that are they do live in a community that lesbian’s relationships are frowned upon, in which inappropriate name calling, the hiring of a woman who is homosexual is unacceptable, and the harm and mistreatment that their children may suppress due to their parents being homosexual. the bias aspect would be that they are women over the age of 40, who are lesbians, and have children that are trying to raise while they’re in homosexual relationship.
