“Judge not, that ye be not judged” (Matthew 7:1). I am a firm believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and I try to the best of my ability to follow the commandments and actions that He asked us as believers to follow. I am also a human full of flaws. In our justice system many loopholes will be found to either help or harm a case. The same scenario holds true with the way one would interrupt what the good book says. The way that I understand what He told me to do was “And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself” (Matthew 22:39). I do not condemn nor do I condone the LBGT movement or any of the rights or laws concerning them. As far as the opinions of all of these outspoken towards this movement? They reserve the same …show more content…
Just as the individual has the right to choose their own lifestyle people have the choice on how to respond to that choice. Well, they have that right as long as it is not taken to an extreme that is harmful. When one chooses to be a part of the LBGT Community that is their right. If you do choose this then be respectful of businesses that make the choice not to serve you. You have a right and they have a right. If more people would stop worrying about what is considered right or wrong and focused on a solution a few things might could get done. I am a realist so I know that we live in an imperfect world and that is not going to happen but just think if everyone would give just a little instead of trying to push their views of how they feel one should act on everyone the outcome may be mind-blowing. The very same thing these individuals are making a huge deal and spectacle of are doing the exact same thing by ranting about it. If you think about it long enough it makes absolutely no sense to tell a person you cannot live that way because it is not right and then turn around and do things that are not right as well. According to scripture no one sin is greater than another; they are all considered

    1. The information I gained from the two videos is safety and the fear of their families and society not being acceptable of their lifestyle (Line, 2015) (Maddux, 2012). As well as the safety of their children because it impacts their lives as well because peers and others will make inappropriate comments about the lifestyle of their parents, which is why Charlotte is so concern about the children well-being. The video also clarifies why it is so difficult for elderly as well as teens to come out about their lifestyle in LBGT community because they do not want to be judged by others or called incongruous names for who they choose to have as a partner. Also, the case states how it is difficult for Mrs. Charlotte to find a job even after her great work ethic and her completion of the culinary training program and in the elderly video it stays how being LBGT was frowned upon back in the day and the same situation is going on with Mrs. Charlotte and her friends in this case.…

    L Town Argument Essay

In this argument, the arguers concludes that residents living in the Leevile town (L town) have relaxed pace of life because of their fewer sick days than Masonton city (C city), and lower rate of diagnosis of stress-related illness. At first glance, the argument appears to be convincing, however, further reflection reveals that it suffers from at least three logic flaws. Firstly, the number of days of sick leave taken by individuals does not necessarily indicate their health status. In order to justify the argument, the arguer should provide explanations like L town’s workers will not still at work if they feel uncomfortable, or the only reason of asking for sick leave is they are indeed ill.…

In a world of injustice and hatred, one would believe that people would at least have the audacity to respect others playing the cruel game of life. Homosexuals have faced many hardships and discriminatory laws that have suggested that they differ from heterosexuals and do not deserve equality. The unjust treatment towards homosexuals lacks mutual respect to marriage laws, adoption policies, and job opportunities. Homosexual couples may not fit the generic standards of what is considered normal in society but are humans, a part of our own species, and just as equally worthy of all rights that heterosexual couples have. On the other hand, there is a number of people who believe that homosexuality is a sin and against their religion, and others…

Growing up in a very conservative state such as Utah, I have grown up knowing that there is a very negative connotation with being a part of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community. Homosexuality is an orientation that is accepted in my family; however, not by the religious communities we lived in. I was often exposed to phrases such as, “homosexuality is a choice” and “you can be cured if you suffer from homosexuality” After much analysis the statements, homosexuality is not a choice nor can you be cured. One institution that I received the message “homosexuality is a choice” was from the religious institutions of Utah specifically, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). The LDS church states “The experience…

During the beginning of the speech, LBJ affirms that, “Our success in that pursuit is the test in our success as a nation.” “That pursuit” is the pursuit of happiness which he explains is the only way we will be a successful country. Moreover, the pursuit of happiness is one of the three rights Liberalism wants guaranteed to society; the other two are life and liberty. The three rights are the basis of both forms of Liberalism, but it can be argued that LBJ was trying to show Liberalism I in this sentence. Moreover, more evidence that he is leaning towards Liberalism I is, “The solution to these problems does not rest on a massive program in Washington.”…

Over the past couple of weeks we have been on the topic of privilege, which is something that has been around for hundreds of years. From whites and blacks to even men and women there has been always some sort of privilege in some form. One of the readings that was interesting was “White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack”. It has been twenty years since Peggy McIntoch wrote this article, and every thing that she has written is still relevant today. Right away in the beginning of her article she talks about how women don’t have the same privilege’s as men.…

Minorities such as the L.G.B.T. community are often oppressed in our society; subsequently, causing them to often be frightened by the consequences when “coming out”. My sister Evelyn “came out” and were not pleased mainly because they feared that we could be frowned upon as a whole family by society. It sicked me to see how much it affected my sister behavior she was more isolated. L.G.B.T. non-acceptance is a major issue in our society and it targets L.G.B.T.…

Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are rights that are said to be guaranteed to all Americans, yet when it benefits some they choose to believe that it best not be given to everyone. Yes, people in America have the right to express their own religious beliefs based on the first amendment of the constitution, yet there is no religious right nor constitutional right that directly states that a person has the right to discriminate against another because the two beliefs or life styles clash. Religious freedoms are contradictory due to several factors. The first factor including the fact that everyone is entitled to the pursuit of happiness, even if that means being a part of the LGBTQ community or expressing a religion freely, another factor includes the idea that just because a person…

Morality, the word itself has a rather loose definition. This word brings up questions about ourselves that most people tend to avoid, it attributes this to the reminders of right and wrong. When the truth is, that there is no “right” and there is no “wrong”. There is only what we perceive as so, there is only the choices we make, there is only the things that we live with each and everyday. What seems right to one person, is wrong to another.…

“Religion” appeared as a word as early as c. 1200. It has an Anglo-French origin and constitutes as a basic vocabulary term for any native English speaker. In 1200, “religion” maintained the same definition as it does today, which is “a state of life bound by monastic vows or the condition of one who is a member of a religious order, especially in the Roman Catholic Church” (Religion). Before this time, however, there were many different words pronounced similarly to “religion”, but carried a very different meaning and drastically different spellings. Relegere, for example, was a word that meant “to read over again” and the word religare had a definition of “to bind”.…
