I would be an asset in the program because I love interacting with people and learning new ways to improve their lives. I quickly discovered my passion for children and this field through the past two years of work experience at the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home (LBCH). I am fortunate enough to be the recreation leader, lifeguard, and math tutor of a diverse group of kids with heart-wrenching upbringings, circumstances, and for some, communication setbacks. My inner longing to provide more assistance to them communication-wise grows daily. The knowledge I am obtaining at ULM, the child-interaction skills I am gaining through the LBCH, and the God-given love and compassion for people all contribute and work simultaneously towards thriving
