I ranked legal services as my first preferred choice because I have a passion for law. I aspire to be a lawyer in the future so as to represent those of the marginalized community who feel as though they do not have a voice. After dedicating one or two years as a JVC, I want to enroll in law school. I have also worked with attorneys at my previous internship experience, at the Ohio Justice and Policy center as listed on my resume. My internship experience gave me skills of legal services and inspired me to pursue a further career in law. Also, I am aware that my role as a Jesuit Volunteer will include managing cases and work directly with clients who have landlord/tenant problems, eviction notices, or need disability accommodations. I will also be responsible for representing clients in hearings and providing them with necessary resources. I am very confident that I will be able to effectively perform these duties and any other duties given to me by my supervisor and also ready to learn new skills at the job. As a political science major and based on my internship experiences, I believe that this is the best site for me, and …show more content…

I also agree with Chrysalis’ philosophy that a steady job is the single most important step in a person’s transition out of poverty. I also have experience in serving the homeless population through my internship at Lydia’s House as listed on my resume. The listed Jesuit Volunteer listed includes assisting new clients with writing resumes, organizing and implementing job interview workshops and talking about the job search to clients. I believe that my college education has provided me with the skills to person the necessary duties
