I. Why This Career

I chose my career project on a lawyer for many reasons. Lawyers need many skills. Some skills needed are public speaking skills, problem-solving, and lawyers must be dependable. I enjoy public speaking. As a lawyer, you have to have confidence to speak in front of a court. I enjoy meeting people and I’m not afraid to speak in public. Something I do well is problem-solving. Lawyers must be good at investigating and figuring out solutions to problems they face. Lawyers must be dependable. Whenever someone needs something, people can always come to me. Lastly, lawyers need to be able to pay close attention to detail. I always make sure I have all the details, which is why I think I would make a great

The job outlook is expected to grow 6% from 2014-2024. There are many different types of lawyers. There are environmental lawyers, family lawyers, litigation lawyers, and even tax lawyers. All lawyers have the same duties of representing their clients.

III.Training/Earnings/Benefits

To become a lawyer, you must have four years of undergraduate study. Upon completion, you have to attend three years of law school. To graduate law school most states require a Juris Doctorate Degree. Some training that is helpful is english, public speaking, government, history, math, economics, and computer skills. To be accepted into law school you must pass a state's written bar examination.

The average hourly wage for the top 10% of lawyers is about $95 per hour. For the bottom 10%, the wage is about $26 per hour. The average yearly wage for the top 10% is $196,740 per year. For the bottom 10%, the wage is about $53,270 per year. Some of the benefits of being a lawyer are paid vacations, health and life insurance, and retirement. With experience of being a lawyer, some values gained are helping others and many life skills.
