Colorado, Virginia Tech, Aurora Movie Theater and Sandy Hook Elementary have one thing in common, armed men with one sole purpose, to kill. Since then our communities have been in constant threat from armed men, and what do most people ask for? Gun control. Those for stronger gun control have themselves and their families in mind. Those against gun control quote the constitution, remind us of our right to own guns. For or against the fact remains: stronger laws for gun control need to be implemented to preserve the safety of our communities from gun massacres.

In order to move our country forward, we need to come to an agreement that does not eradicate our rights to own guns but also filters out those who are not mentally capable of owning them. In Florida and Texas, we saw how their right-to-carry laws gave those who wanted to exercise their right to own a gun the ability to do so if they passed the requirements. In these cities their gun related murder cases dropped, however not completely. One of the reasons that it did not drop to a 50 % or above, could be because of the fact that way we buy guns is not completely controlled. As stated above, it is pretty easy to get a gun. When acquiring a gun through a family member, friend, or the internet there is no guarantee that the costumer has passed a background check, or has acquired a gun license. Many people selling their guns could be out for quick cash, or looking to upgrade their own guns and needing the funds. Not everyone has the same moral grounds and so selling to someone who does not qualify can be tempting or easy to do. All 50 states can pass the right-to-carry law and we will be able to see a change in the gun related murders occurring, however until we have control in how these guns are being purchased the change will not be
