Lawrence Ceasar Case Study

It is with great pleasure that I recommend Lawrence Ceasar as the successor to the position of Executive Director for Compass Inc. I have known Lawrence for over ten years and had the pleasure of working directly with him for three almost four years and can attest to his work performance and management style.

Ten plus years ago when I first met Lawrence, he was a Resource Coordinator in Prince George’s County. In my communications with him, he always displayed a high degree of integrity, responsibility, and ambition. In 2013, our organization was in search of a program leader that had the vision and skillset to move EPIC’s day habilitation services from a center-based program into a community-based program where people with disabilities learned

I recall a few times when a staff persons’ work performance was not up to par; Lawrence would respond in a manner where you understood the seriousness of his concern and he rarely had to dictate tasks as he was respected by his team. However when situations warranted corrective action, he practiced progressive discipline until the issue was resolved. Lawrence exemplifies the qualities of a true leader, which is someone who has the power to motivate others to perform at their best as they move forward as a “Team” to meet their mission. His great judgment and outlook ensures a logical and practical approach to his endeavors. Lawrence has impeccable knowledge of how an elite program should be and innate ability to manage multiple departments. While working with him directly I was able to observe him guide staff through a universal vision to promote quality, independence and choice for people with developmental …show more content…
Should Lawrence be given the opportunity to lead your organization, you would truly receive a dynamic visionary that believes in the rights and quality of all people. During his tenure at EPIC, Lawrence was a true asset and would be a great asset to any organization, but most importantly, as the next leader of Compass Inc. and am happy to give him my wholehearted

At the very top of this set, I have found that the following three seem most relevant in my life: a sense of unity and community, strong relationships and family involvement, and the practice of altruism. A member of our community that displays these values and inspires me to build on these values is Mona Hjerpe. Mona is extremely present in the town of Hutchinson and does a great deal of work helping those with developmental disabilities; an area where I have also developed a strong passion. The values listed above help Mona with leading those with developmental disabilities in activities that will help them serve their community.…

Introduction When I first decided to pursue a degree in social work, my decision was guided by the experience I had volunteering specifically with children. Originally, I believed my purpose within social work would be in the one-to-one interactions because my idea of social work career options was underdeveloped. However, after taking The Social Work Profession, I realize that while a passion for a specific population may guide your interests it does not necessitate a certain job. Specifically, I learned there are three broad practice categories: micro, mezzo, and macro social work from which I can choose.…

While the observations and stories from the parents introduced the overall tone of the documentary, it was later revealed the greater issue at hand for this family. In some of the first scenes of Samuel at school, you could tell that many of the teachers were in fact trying their hardest to help Samuel integrate with many of the other children in the classroom. However, it was apparent over time that the family as well as the teachers were struck in almost the same dilemma. How do you successfully integrate as well as design the most positive education plan for someone with disabilities?…

Even though children tend to be products of their environment, it is possible to break the cycle. Being in a position of leadership, I find it imperative to embrace the potential to make a difference in the life of others. Positively influencing one person can leave a lifelong lasting impression. By focusing on one’s abilities rather than their disabilities, and with the right combination of encouragement, support, and guidance, is a motivator for growth. It is my belief that a person can become and accomplish anything he or she dreams with the proper supports and self-intrinsic qualities to be determined and resilient.…
