Lawrence Beesley was 34 years old when he sailed on the Titanic. He was an old science teacher, author, and journalist. When he traveled on the Titanic he had no friends or family with him. Lawrence went on the Titanic to see his brother Frank Beesley. He got on the second class ship. When the Titanic hit the iceberg Karence was laying in bed reading a book when he felt the heave and grow quiet. He went outside to see what happened but everything was quiet. He asked one of the nearby steward of what had happened and he said everything was fine, but Lawrence decided to check himself. Up on the deck women and children were being loaded onto lifeboats. Lawrence grabbed his coat and scanned some boats. The ship was sinking! He
