Lawren Harris was a canadian painter originating in Brantford, Ontario. Lawren was born on October 23, 1885 and later on started a family with 3 children and a wife. Before his career as a painter, he began studying philosophy and then later on studying theosophy. Lawren also was an attribute to the formation of the Group of Seven. Lawren was very inspired, and interested in the art of painting and decided to then fulfill his dreams by pursuing in a painting career.
The painting that most captured me and really meant a whole lot was “Maligne Lake, Jasper Park”, created by Lawren in 1924. This painting really expressed and displayed the beautiful scenery of Canada. In this painting, Lawren had a wide range of shades of blue, all blended with such an abstract touch. Lawren made the painting look like the water was going out, miles and miles on end, never ending. This painting shows how beautiful Canada is, and is something that every Canadian should have the opportunity to see.
