Although no official relationship between the Law School Admissions Council and the American Bar Association (the accrediting authority for colleges of law) exists, all those accredited retain Council membership in addition to certain acknowledged Canadian colleges.

“Consider how deeply this issue intrudes into the life of the college, how it effects the college even in unexpected ways”( Lascell). In 1996, Grove City College withdrew from federal student loan programs and instead, created its own system. Because of the Grove City College versus Bell court case, the college is no longer able to offer some of the opportunities to incoming students that they once could. However, since then, Grove City College has been known for their exceptional effort and withstanding to the community. There are over 3,000 colleges in the United States, many being community colleges, city colleges, junior colleges, state universities, and several more (Cohen).…

Individual Analysis: ACCJC Background Reviewing recent reports surrounding the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) reveals that there are many issues that have been proposed in regard to the efficiency and efficacy of their accreditation processes (CITE). For this reason, many feel that the ACCJC is not meeting their obligation to maintain institutional quality. In the following sections, I will discuss what issues specifically the ACCJC is having in terms of maintenance of institutional quality and what recommendations have been suggested for the commission to improve it’s accreditation processes. These recommendations were derived—in some cases—by comparing the ACCJC to other accrediting commissions and modeling…

When we got admitted to law school, we all most likely encountered a number of emotions. Some of you might had felt positive feelings, other of you may had experienced mixed thoughts instead. However, it seems, that the longer we went on in our law school journey; the friends we were able to create, the professors whom went the extra mile for us, and the clubs that this school currently offers have helped made this law school feel less intimidating and more like a home. The Christian Legal Society should be chartered back to at WMU-Cooley Law School because we want to enable our members, individually, and as a group, to love the Lord with their whole beings - hearts, souls, and minds - and to love their neighbors as themselves.…

While interviewing Dylan McKinnon, a second year law student at the University of Iowa, I gained knowledge about the subject field and domain of law school and how it prepares students to emerge into the law field after graduation. I found Dylan during his office hours in the Pappajohn Business Building on the third floor on Friday afternoon. His office was poorly decorated with the only item on his desk being a laptop. The room seemed much too big for the minimal space that he was using but the artlessness mimicked his simple, but insightful answers to the interview questions. The room was grey and most likely could not be changed, a rule of the business college.…

The state test tends to be in essay form and its topics vary depending on the state.”…

"Law is not law, if it violates the principles of eternal justice." - Lydia Child. The rule of law attests to the idea that the people are to be protected by these very principles. Unfortunately, throughout the world there've been earmarks of injustice from police brutality in the US to the marginalization of women in Afghanistan. Hence, the very reason I want to become a lawyer - to end these perversions.…

“Never in my life would I have expected community colleges to be called potential saviors of the economy,” says George Boggs. There have been misconceptions on the validity of Community Colleges and why it might be an option to some people. Parents, institutions, and the general public see this life option as second best but what most do not realize is that Community Colleges serve as more than a “second tier” institution, but as a metaphorical fallback net. The assumption is that most students leave high school and their parents are able and willing to continue investing in their education but most do not take in consideration of those who fall short of these financial requirements, those who are not ready to take the leap to the next step…

Many have asked, is there really a difference between community college and a four year university. The answer is, yes, of course because of the smaller classes, academics, and advantages one might receive from a community college experience. Four year colleges, on the other hand, have bigger classes, higher academic standards, and a completely different atmosphere. Community colleges offer more one on one help, because of the class sizes.…

When I was two years old, I informed my mother that, in my expert opinion, there was probably an Ankylosaurus in our backyard, and I needed to use one of our spare toothbrushes to excavate it. 14 years later, when a friend was unsure if I was concussed, she didn’t ask my name, but what I wanted to study when I grew up, because how quickly I answered, “avian paleobiology and the evolution of flight in theropods” was their best measure of my potential memory loss. All my life I have wanted to study paleontology, refining the interest as I went, and holding the aspiration to study it, ahead of me like a beacon light, when I am unsure of what path to take. After my closing statement at our school’s Mock Trial tournament, as we filed out of the courtroom, shaking hands with the opposing counsel, judges of the competition, and assorted defense attorneys and prosecutors that had been in attendance, my teammates and I were asked, time and time again, “So are you six planning on going into Pre-Law?”…

As a child of immigrant parents, whom never passed secondary education, I had been told several times by my mother, “I came here so you can have the opportunities I never had.” I never took her words in for consideration. Being callow was part of the predicament, and my early teenage mindset kept me in captivity. Unlike my mother, I’ve been oblivious to the fact that as a citizen, I’m capable of achieving anything. During my last two years of high school, I realized that she was utterly right.…
