Another important interpretation of this performance curve is that the rate of improvement at any point in practice tends to be linearly relate to the amount left to be improved in the task. So, early in practice, when there is much learning left to accomplish, the speed of improvements is very rapid as compared to that at the end of practice when there is not so much room for improvement remaining. Furthermore, many of the experiments in support of the law of practice show that improvements continue to occur for years, even though these later gains may be very small.
