Law Enforcement Research Paper

As we all know the criminal justice system has changed from the past. I feel as though the criminal justice system was built to protect certain individuals. There is always a way to get around things and it seems as though law enforcement officials can get away with anything in today’s society. Law enforcement official’s main purpose is to protect and serve but it just seems as though the ones that are doing wrong aren’t punished while the innocent are thrown in jail. I feel as though law enforcement officials protect and serve who they want to. Not all law enforcement officials think or act the same way so therefore we can’t speak for them as a whole. We can speak on what we see and what is portrayed in the media. Lately there have been more than 3 incidences dealing with a law enforcement officer killing someone in just a matter of one year. In all of the incidents the officers were not convicted. If everyone is equal and laws pertain to every person, then there is no reason why those officers got to walk free for killing not only a person but a young African American teenager. In the Eric Garner case the officer had put him in a chokehold which was the cause of his death. To kill someone and just walk free is unjust and it’s not serving and …show more content…
Some actually do serve and protect and try to actually build some type of relationship with people in communities. I feel as though the ones that may serve and protect the right way aren’t acknowledged like they should be. For there to have been more than three incidences where a law enforcement officer killed an African American person or teenager, its making others feel as though its acceptable and just. For the officers that are serving and protecting it is hurting them in a way because people are looking at law enforcement officials as a whole because not only did these events happen in different parts of the U.S., but in many peoples
