As stated earlier all of these statements and thoughts are in consideration of people working together and making an effort to understand one another, It is the interaction between the citizenry of Seattle and the Police force that allows for both the safety of the individual and of society as a whole. It is critical that each member of Law Enforcement follow the mission statement as well as understand and live by the code of ethics, Law Enforcement is unique in its application in that it is the one profession that can take away someone’s freedom and ultimately someone’s life, so a firm grounding in ethics is essential.
