In the book, there were not many places could act gay without any judgment. In addition, state law makes it harder for gay to meet up. One example is New York had laws that prohibited gays in public and private places. Also, it was hard for the gays community to create a business because the police will raid it and shut it down. The focus of the LGBT right is important. The reason is the LGBT movement is like any movement such as women right, civil right movement, and the Latinos movement. All the movement was given most of their right, expect the LGBT community. In today 's news, the new portray being gay is bad, or make over dramatic life story of being gay. This is important to focus on giving the LGBT people their right instead of making a deal about being gay or transgender. It is a big deal because everyone in the United States should have a pursuit of happiness. This is weird that the LGBT community still has not gotten their rights. The first one author, David Azzolina, liked the book. Plus, he stated that LGBT community is having a constant battle for marriage equality. The marriage equality battle is more complex than it sounds. The two author, Nathan Tipton, started that the book was illumination overview between American prejudice and the gay right movement. Plus, he stated Frank, the author of Laws and the gay right story, was able to trace the American moral attitude in the 1950s. He does not like how the 1950s American moral attitude was harsh in the gays community while the gays community were offered little protection from the policies and the laws.
