The show follows cases that are inspired form headline news. Unlike other shows, this one would be different in every way in how each case is handle to how it is presented in both the investigation phase and the courtroom phase or the often then not rough conclusion of the episode. Yet it does its best to not victimize their victims like in other shows such as CSI. In Law & Order this isn’t show each character is handled with respect this would also extend to the other characters. With the character of Olivia Benson who is a strong willed single mother how takes on hard cases that would break others. She is thrown in to cases that would test her ability not as women but just like her male counterparts the ability to solve the case all the while taking on issues that have stopped women from not only proving they can hold a show on there own but be a role model to others that a women can do the job to.
