Sometimes, young students can misbehave in school. In “Charles,” by Shirley Jackson, it shows an example of this, Laurie misbehaved in school. Laurie was a young child in kindergarten, who was an older brother to an infant. This story took place in the 1950’s, at home and in kindergarten. The conflict is that Laurie did not adjust well to kindergarten. There were several examples of how Laurie misbehaved in the start of the school year. Laurie has begun acting up as the school year started.
