Laurie Halse Anderson is age 53 with four children. Laurie was once married to Greg Anderson they later divorced. She eventually married her childhood sweetheart Scot Larrabee. Together they combined their two families and together they had four children, Stephanie, Meredith, Christian, and Jessica. She was born to Rev. Frank A. Halse Jr. and Joyce Holcomb Halse in Potsdam, New York. When Laurie was sixteen she moved out of her parents' home and lived as an exchange student for thirteen months on a pig farm in Denmark. After living as an exchange student she moved back home and worked at a clothing store making minimum wage. Doing this gave her a push to go to college.
