Laurel Letter To A Dead Person Analysis

In her English class at her new school her teacher assigned the whole class to write a letter to a dead person. Laurel got to attached to this assignment and continues on in her everyday life to get her through her first year in high school. Not knowing what to do Laurel tries to fit in and she would try to remember what her older sister would tell her if she was still here. Left to figure this high school life out by herself Laurel continues to write, believe it or not but writing to the dead help her gain a new friendship with two girls that are confused most of the time about their sexuality, Hanna a popular redhead who loves to have boyfriend left to right sometimes two or three at a time. Hannah lives with her grandparents because her parents died when she was younger. Her grandparents are not really that eligible to …show more content…
These two girls showed Laurel to whole new world of drinking and sex and drugs. These girls had no filter what so ever and Laurel was so desperate and she wanted to be somebody’s friend so bad that she didn’t too much care. Laurel went with the flow and said nothing about the ride on the way. Laurel didn’t want to talk about may and on what happen to anybody. Nobody knew about what had really happened except for her and she wanted to keep it like that. She kept it bottled up in her and she didn’t want anyone to try and open her to see what’s inside. When Laurel started to get somewhat acquainted with her new friends she finally felt like she belonged and she doesn’t have to worry about anyone tell her that they're sorry and asking what happen. She felt like it was a new start and that she would do anything in her advantage not to mess anything up. In Laurel’s eyes she was invisible to this new boy that just transferred from another school. Laurel somehow connected with him in a way that she hasn’t felt about anyone. Laurel would ask about him here and there and finally found out that Mr. Mystery is
