Every year at Laurel Christian School, we are given a Summer Reading Assignment. The summer assignment consist of several rules, such as reading an assigned book given by your instructor, and keeping a journal of your reading in a standard size spiral bound notebook. In this case the notebook plays a very important role. For each chapter summary, you are required to title the page, give a plot summary, and write a personal analysis of the chapter. It may sound boring or lame but it is very helpful in several ways, simply because over the summer, students are too busy traveling, sleeping late, and having great time and afterwards forgetting everything about education.
