Where it describes difffuclt circumstances which he experienced. He suffer from a plane crash during World War II being stranded on the Pacific Ocean, with two of his crewmen. They where stuck on a raft, exposed to hard adversity for fortyseve days. Finally, they were captured and taken to a POW camp. During, this time they would experience horrible circumstance which they had to adopt to. Therefore, the author Kendra Cherry from “What is resilence?” claims that inorder to overcome an obstacle they must respond to the change;some typ eof reslience.

An example of Louie reflecting on their need was when, “ Louis was more concerned about sanity than he was about substance. Louie was determined that no matter what would happen to their bodies, their minds would stay under their control” ( Hillenbrand 2).This helps him reflect on his priorities by changing his mindset of not focusing on his physical matter. He knows how he should react, because he is aware that if he lost control, they would not survive that long.Louis’ ability to overcome any obstacle with his rebelious act, to achieve his goal no matter the siuation.
