Compared to this clip, my discussion is need of refocus and reflection. My discussion is teacher lead, with students looking to answer my questions without contributing to the overall discussion. Unlike the clip, students aren’t asking or answering question. Instead, I am the nexus for all information, and student thinking is not even addressed. I also see in the Edthena Clip the teacher allows time to pass to allow students time to think and formulate questions and responses to their peers.

7. What do you notice about how Tanya manages student status in the classroom? Cite moments from the clips.
a. Tanya is fair with all of her students. During the Discussion clip (14:00) a students asks a question that is a part of the second problem of the day. Tanya uses wonderful techniques to redirect the class to help with a new way of explaining the concept. She asks the class how they solved Kevin and Ana problem. This is did not discount the question, but communicated to the class that we have to understand the first question before we move on the second question.
