The author discusses the US used imperialism to be able to conquer some of the Latin countries. The author takes issues with the fact that the US it itsconquest decided to use imperialism and the separation of races. The jobs on offer and the promise of equal opportunities in the US were very hard for the Latinos/as to ignore. On that note, many of them moved in search of greener pastures and a better way of life, little did they know that promise would not be fulfilled in full.
