Mexico was also Latin America's largest trade union. Cuba in October of 1942 had become the very first Latin American country to extend their diplomatic recognition. For some Latin Americans and other minorities in preparation during the war they were drafted to fight while the majority volunteered. Many Latin Americans had been sent back to their country because of the lack of jobs. This had all changed once the United States entered the war. This is because there was a high demand of workers since most people left their old jobs to work in the military. One of the main groups of workers at this time was Mexicans. The government of Mexico and the United States both agreed on the Bracero program. The Bracero program which started in 1942, granted mexicans the right to show their patriotism and also earn an income. With the United States under this program about 200,000 mexican workers had came to to the United States. Panama was one of the most important nation of Latin America primarily to the allies because of the Panama canal. The weaponry used by hispanics and Americans were very intense and deadly. They used weapons such as proximity fuzes which made hitting a target up in the sky a lot easier. Also M-1 Rifle which are bolt action rifles. Some rifles had dated all the way back to the nineteenth century. Another piece of weaponry used was the gato-class subs was an efficient weapon of destruction. In places like Tsardom, Bulgaria they used handguns, rifles, submachine guns like ZK-383, which was produced in small numbers during the war time period. Finally, they also used machine guns like the madsen machine gun. Different latin countries in America often used different types of machinery during war.
