Burn!
The history of Latin America is something in which many choose to oversee. Our world in which we live in is not mindful of the history. We are taught that people choose to forget its history and some never want to learn it. Many do not realize that the influences of Latin America are part of our systems, our cultures, our traditions in which we live in today. In this class I have learned about many themes in which why Latin American countries were established, and received their influences from. In the movie in for example the character Sir William Walker was the main reason why ideas of revolts where happening they were not the cause, everyone could see clearly that the causes of these revolutions would be manipulation of the slaves undereducated minds, that many did not know how to use the power they were given. What is not being stated is that the slaves were not that uneducated, they would have revolted later than sooner. The push that was given to Jose Dolores, because of the English investigator Sir William Walker was just a push he did not force Jose Dolores to revolt, and kill the kings, or be the decoys above the revolution that needed to happen for the English to enter with exports. The movie depicted many revolts but I believe that the Haitian Revolution was the main revolt displayed for everyone to see, and understand why it was one of the most success of many revolts. The Haitian Revolution was one of the biggest and most successful revolutions that had occurred. It is depicted in the movie burn because it was in the part of the movie where Jose Dolores was forced to sign off the acceptance of surrender, and that all slaves would go back to working. That is in which the economy would start to rise again, because the economy was losing its value in the trade industry. The church was still a massive influence in the economy, but the church could not decide anymore. Before the revolt of their own Queimada became its own self-sufficient land this is what led them to revolt, because they needed to export and this happened in history also, in the Paraguay revolution the free trade that was from 1870-1893 which needed the trade to survive (Lecture, Burn). In economies, you need to trade no matter where you are at unless otherwise you have all the crops you need that you would not need to leave to another country to import the good.
