This study is assessing several factors within an infant’s environment that may contribute to physical and mental developmental delays in preterm/low birth weight infants when compared to term infants. Such as the mother’s overall health and what role plays in the physical development of the infant based on her mental, physical and emotional state. Also, how environmental exposure and low socioeconomic status can play the pivotal role in the physical development. This questionnaire did not include information regarding the husband’s poor mental or physical conditions and child mental and physical state.
In Japan over 1400 questionnaires were given to parents to complete if their child had received his/her 4-month checkup.
