In James Fenimore Cooper’s The Last of the Mohicans, Hawkeye’s definitive ideas of racial purity and white supremacy are carried throughout the novel. Hawkeye’s views on the superiority of white men is not unknown from his first appearance in the novel to the shaking of his head to the “future prospects of Cora and Uncas” after their deaths (Cooper 344). His actions show his deeply rooted contempt for interracial relationships, beyond those of distanced friendship, and his inability to believe that any other race could be equal to his own race. Hawkeye’s belief is built upon his desire to maintain white hegemony in the building of American culture, and these beliefs shows most when he is talking to Chingachgook about the difference between…

The first half was in an urban area because it was described as busy and crowded with lots of buildings and the second/middle half was in a rural area or nature because it was described to be in a drifted or separated area with fewer homes and people. Proving if a story is Authentic The last of the Mohicans by James Fenimore Cooper can be called an example of Native American literature because it aligns with three of the seven important elements of that writing style: nature, religion, and courage, which are also present in the acclaimed Native American book “The Way to Rainy Mountain” by N. Scott Momaday and the movie “Smoke Signals”. Nature is a proven through-out both. In The last of the Mohicans nature surrounds our main characters and is also used as a blank canvas as to which our main characters paint themselves. In Smoke Signals Thomas and Victor are forced to walk at the beginning and when they arrive in Arizona.…

Texas Chainsaw massacre was very interesting; I have not watched the original movie until now. When watching the movie, it made me realize that in almost every horror movie, there is always a dumb girl, a sexually aroused girl and a serious girl. In older movies the women are normally the last ones to get killed. In newer movies, there is always one or two guys that survive. As far as the women, normally the serious girl survives and the rest dies.…
