Freshman year, I lived and breathed basketball. I lived for my team and the sound of squeaky shoes on an old gym floor. Although I was not the best, I was determined to be by the end of senior year. I worked day in and day out and I was fortunate enough to play on varsity throughout freshman year. However, my basketball days were cut short by a stress fracture in my lower back. I wanted to continue playing but I knew, that if I wanted to live a long healthy life, I had to stop. At first, I was mortified that I would never play again, but God had a plan. My family encouraged me to get more involved in FFA and I loved it.

I was surprised and overwhelmed because I knew nothing about it. I now have learned more in the last few months than I did in three years of vocational agriculture classes. I have been able to use the skills I gained in FFA to fulfill my ambassador volunteer duties. The ambassadorship has humbled me in such a way that I have more friends at school. Although this may seem strange, but through this program I realized that I had neglected my friendships at school for the past two years. Fortunately, my friends have welcomed me back with open arms and I am a better person because of
