Case Study: Lash Esthetica

Improved Essays
The entrepreneur I interviewed was Jessica Gonzalez, the owner and founder of Lash Esthetica. Lash Esthetica is a salon located in West Hartford, Connecticut that specializes in eyelash extensions, facial treatments and medicinal aromatherapy. Lash Esthetica was the first eyelash extension shop to be opened in Connecticut. The salon opened in 2006 and is still in business today. I found Jessica because I had been in the salon before when I was back home from school and knew she had opened and owned it for the past ten years. Today her business is still growing and continues to be very successful. Jessica grew up in a caring, loving family and had two very hardworking parents. Her father was an immigrant who came to the United States to …show more content…
Jessica knew at the time that this salon could become something big. Jessica describes herself as a risk taker and saw an opportunity for her idea to grow and saw the salon as a financial investment. There was no other competition in the area and she knew that it was a growing industry but she never thought the salon would grow to what it is today. Jessica thought she might own the salon for a few years and then most likely move onto something else, but ended falling in love with what she did and how she helped her clients. Lash Esthetica specializes in helping cancer patients who have lost or have thinned out eyelashes and Jessica said that it is one of her favorite parts about her job. She is very excited and happy to know that she can help someone and talks very highly of all her …show more content…
Jessica gave some great advice about finding a balance between personal life and business, tips on staying organized, finding a good support system and knowing the ins and outs of the industry you are interested in. She was very positive and expressed the love she had for her salon and all her clients. She is definitely someone I would want to work for. She seems to have a very strong work ethic and had a lot of energy. I believe that I could be an entrepreneur based on what I talked with Jessica about and what I have learned in class so far. I believe that I am hard working, very organized and would be willing to take a risk in something I believed in. Owning my own business is something I would definitely be interested in pursuing one
