Laser And Searchlight Profiles: A Case Study

Decent Essays
As I look back on these two children, it wasn’t easy, but I was able to identity between the laser and searchlight profiles. I would identify the first child, who was able to do the entire project by herself, was more of a searchlight. I saw multiple intelligences as I observed her completing the activity. Her main two where logical and intrapersonal. The second child, I would label more as a laser profile. She was very strong in one intelligence, this being logical. Both of them are going to succeed in different ways. Many might think that the second child, may struggle more because she needed more help but she was always still thinking critically while I was helping her. This experience has allowed me to see the multiple intelligence

I learned a lot from this OIR that will affect my future teaching career hopefully in a better approach. I learned that some children develop slower than others and some develop quicker. All children achieve milestones at different times in their lives. Seeing that some children need a little extra help (guidance in independence and taking responsibility) and some children don’t, show that when I’m a teacher, I’m going to have to accommodate to these children’s needs as much as possible. I also learned that some children need more time than others to develop.…

Birth Order "The one thing you can bet your paycheck on is that the firstborn and second born in any given family are going to be different," (Voo 1). Doctor Leman, a psychologist that has been studying birth order since 1967 has noted this throughout his years of research. Whether first born, middle child, or the youngest in a family, there are going to be certain personality traits that are commonly found in a person depending on the order of their birth. For an example, usually it can be quite difficult to find a comedian that is a first born child (Cowley 17) because usually the youngest is the more of the out going person and not as much of a conscientious and structured person.…
