From my perspective, these two black leaders offered differing philosophies, strategies, and tactics for African Americans following Reconstruction both insightful and persuasive arguments. In their present time in the in the late 19th and 20th century the best advice present to me, if I was in a situation to choose, would be the Booker T. Washington speech given. Despite the fact it is being viewed as a surrender of the African Americans political influence, second, emphasis on social liberties, third, advanced education of Negro youth, and focus every one of their energies on modern training, the gathering of riches, and the placation of the south. Which is a lot of rights to give up. I believe Booker T. Washington saw the bigger picture at the moment.…

In Leadership Group Communication COM 430, we were required to choose a leadership book and write about it. The book that I chose was Dale Carniege's How to Win Friends and Influence People. This was a book that was recommended to me by another Arizona State University alumni who jumped at the question when I asked them "what book should I read for my leadership class? " I later found out after purchasing the book that it has been in publication for the last 75 years.…

John F. Kennedy's speech was delivered with ideas of realism and strength. It brought the message that freedom comes with responsibility, following the quote, “ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” This line had the intention of encouraging Americans to rally for the ongoing battle of freedom for all, as well as other nations to do the same within their countries. This ended up creating the Peace Corps, an organization where many people spent their time helping others in their own country or other ones around the world. I believe his speech is still relevant to today.…

If we just hear it, or see it, we might forget, or somehow remember. Just like the songs that we’ve heard and the movies that we’ve watched. We can just forget them all, but unlike if we experience the real thing or do the same thing, we can deeply understand everything that we need to know. I can reflect this quote in my studies when sometimes I really can’t understand the lessons in some of my subjects. I’ve tried to focus in listening to my professor but I can’t really understand the lesson.…
