A Renaissance man is described as someone who helps society not shuns it. Larry Page is the most eligible bachelor for this title because of his influences in technology and his donations to society. Larry Page, co founder and CEO of Google, is a modern day Renaissance man because of the invention of Google which is a multi-billion-dollar company that has revolutionized the field of technology. A man that helps revolutionize technology and that contributes to society is a true Renaissance man.
Renaissance men or women are defined by character, contribution to society, and having outstanding knowledge that they share with everyone. The development of Google occurred so that humans would no longer have to endlessly search for an answer to their question by reading various books and documents. Larry Page the co inventor of Google didn’t launch the company for money but to share his knowledge with the world which shows that he is a true Renaissance man (Horowitz). Larry Page not only wanted to share his knowledge with the world but he wanted to ease the human life with the invention of Google he wasn’t just releasing the search engine for his own profits he actually waned to help society which you never see in people these days. …show more content…
A significant impact to society is donating millions of dollars to help fund research that helps find causes of vocal paralysis so that patients could be told how to avoid it. He didn’t do this for popularity but he did it out of his good will. Also in this year he donated nearly 200 million dollars to various charity so he could help people in need instead of just helping himself (Altucher). Plus, unlike other successful tycoons of the tech industry he puts changing the technological industry and helping humans before everything
