Larry Nassar Sexual Assault

As many know, it was found that the Doctor, Larry Nassar was found guilty of sexual assault. Larry Nassar was the former Olympic Gymnastics Doctor. Most of the patients he abused were Olympic gymnasts. More than 100 women have claimed that they too, were sexually assaulted by Doctor Larry Nassar. He worked with the US Olympic women's gymnastics team for over two decades. Larry is now facing up to 40 to 175 years in prison. He will now live the rest of his life behind bars, which is greatly deserved due to the horrible things he did to numerous women. The stories that have been shared in the courtroom by the women who have been sexually assaulted, were sorrowful. The women who have given statements have claimed they now have many things interfering with their daily life including, depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Jessica Thomashow, a victim of Nassar stated, “I also developed an intense fear of male hands, like a PTSD response. Now I get flashbacks when I see male hands and it makes me feel scared and threatened. This fear changed the way I grew up and how I related to boys. I didn't want to hold hands or ever be close to my guy friends.” Many of the victims have also suffered from forms of PTSD like Thomashow has. The famous gymnast victims include, Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, McKayla Maroney and Gabby Douglas. Nassar was first arrested on Kyle Stephens charges against him. He eventually pleaded guilty to 10 counts of criminal sexual conduct in two Michigan counties. Plenty of victims of Nassar have said they reported him to counselors, coaches, child protective services, and numerous more sources. Larry has received sentences of 60 years for a conviction related to child pornography and of 40 to 175 years for the sexual abuse charges in Ingham
