A murderer is someone who is narcissistic, often mentally ill and selfish. They have no compassion and don’t feel anything most of the time. That’s definitely the case for Larry Bittaker and Roy Norris also known as the “Toolbox Killers” as well as Ian Brady and Myra Hindley also known as the “Moors Murderers.”
Lawrence “Larry” Bittaker was born in Pittsburgh, PA and was adopted as a baby. Because of his adopted fathers job, he was forced to move from place to place before they finally settled in California. Bittaker was really smart but he dropped out when he was 17 and was arrested multiple times for small crimes such as theft, resisting arrest and a hit and run. After he was released from serving one sentence, the FBI arrested him for violating the IMVTA (Interstate Motor Vehicle Theft Act) and had to then serve 18 months in prison in Oklahoma. Ian Brady was born in Scotland and lived without a father and his mother couldn’t take care of him so she sent him to live with a couple she knew in the local area. She visited him while he lived there but as he grew up she started to visit less and less. Throughout his childhood, he liked to torture and kill animals and one time he even set a dog on fire which eventually led to him attacking children. He later became interested in World War II and the Nazis in specific. Myra was almost the complete opposite before she met Brady. She had a normal childhood where both her parents worked but her father was an alcoholic who beat Hindley but taught her to defend herself nevertheless. She always had good grades and was a very active “tom boy” until she turned 15 and one of her close friends Michael drowned. This hit her really hard because she had denied an invitation to go swimming with him so she felt that she could’ve prevented his death.
