Laramie Project Poster Analysis

My project was to create a poster, advertising the school play “The Laramie Project”. This poster was supposed to represent the different aspects of the play. Upon speaking with the play director, Ms. Kleinberg, I decided to take a key place from the play and present it on paper in different mediums. This would intrigue people to come see the play, to learn of its significance. The poster was created on separate pieces of paper and would be scanned and put into a computer system to be layered in a photo editing app and sent to be printed. I chose this project because I am good with making art and I felt it would be an interesting experience. During the making of this poster I learned many things about advertising and the techniques used in catching people’s attention. Bright colors can be used to catch someone's attention and so I used some bright colors in my poster. Also if you use a poster as a form of advertising it is not only free but effective. You can place a poster almost anywhere that you wish, unless it is illegal to do so. You can place them in crucial areas and you can also hand them out to people. There is an endless supply of posters that you can copy so you have no limits. Posters are effective in a way that when you place them, people who are looking at them are already interested …show more content…
Since each part of the poster was created on a separate sheet of paper because of the separate mediums I had used, I was required to scan them all onto a drive and transfer it to a computer. Once the photos were in they were laid on top of each other and I was then able to align them properly with each other. Using photoshop software was a new experience for me and it helped me understand how much effort goes into advertising and marketing. I now understand that it is necessary to understand what you are marketing and where it should be placed to receive the best turnout

My notes had clear information about the purpose of the poster and the deadlines, but I will have to clarify a few things before having the full details required to produce the Karaoke poster. For example, I do not know the specific room that will be used, the name of the entertainer and the details of the tickets. Once I have the outstanding information confirmed I will use PowerPoint to design my document, as I find PowerPoint more versatile for creating this type of document than Word. I will enter the text in the computer using the keyboard and include in the layout pictures and a music theme to produce an attractive A3 poster.…

If you ever decide to do an entire project in one day, you’re in for a ride. That’s what I learned when I decided that I had enough time in one day to finish my entire individual project. Of course, I think it turned out well, and I spent about 4-5 hours of that day on the art aspect alone, but I feel like there were some things that could have been improved. I feel like it was a good piece of art, but wouldn’t function well as a movie poster, like the project entailed. I read into my idea too much and made too many details that would be hard to pick up to a quick glance; like the kiss on Cyrano’s cheek, or the quill through his heart.…

During World War II, every nation used propaganda posters to encourage support and participation by its citizens. The Allies created many types of propaganda to encourage citizens to purchase war bonds, to join in the conservation efforts, and for women to fill the critical jobs on the home-front while the men were serving on the front lines. Allied propaganda also served the purpose of boosting public morale when it looked like the Axis might win the war. The most infamous propaganda of the World War II era was created by the Nazis, though, their effective use of mass media to promote messages of nationalist fervor and racial bigotry was crucial because it helped them convince ordinary Germans to support their extremist policies. However, it is important to remember that Allied propaganda also demonized the enemy sometimes.…

Before World War II began, anti-semitic propaganda posters circulated throughout Europe.
