A lot of books that schools use in their classes aren’t on the internet. If they are most of them cost money. A writer from ProCons.org states “As of 2012 only 30 percent of textbook titles are available electronically” (Should 6). Textbooks on laptops and Ipads a very limited. Believe it or not journals are even harder to find. Mark Y. Herring tells us in his article that “Only 8 percent of all journals are on the web”(1). It’s easier for a school to get paper books and journals for students to use. Schools only have to buy paper books and journals once and then use them for many years. Using books on laptops and Ipads means schools have to keep buying the books over and over again. Class Zone an informative website says “Some Electronic resources are only available through a subscription” (Library 2). This quote shows that if schools buy the textbooks online they have to keep updating their subscription over time, usually every year. Getting the books for a long amount of time could result in all kinds of problems, from having to keep buying the subscriptions to taking hours downloading and getting the books on every student’s device. Overall paper books are the best for schools because a lot of books aren’t available on the internet, and if they are most of them require a subscription to use

Because students have grown up with technology and use it in their daily lives, it would make sense for schools to start using them as learning aids, rather than books.
