Laptop Policy Paper

As a network administrator for a small company with 10 members in the sales group, that all own laptops, I would implement a policy that required staff to bring their laptop to work with them. I would inform employees that is it a BYOD (or Bring Your Own Device) work place. Employees brining their own devices to work would keep costs down and give the employees more freedom and leisure. By implementing the BYOD policy in the work place, employees are more likely to have their laptop with them because it feels more natural than carrying around a second device they are not used to having. Bringing your own device can also be risky for the employee and the company. If the laptop is stolen or damaged at work, who is responsible for fixing or replacing the damage laptop? Technical tanning on how to operate the laptop and its software will not be needed, since the owner should already be familiar with their device. Tanning is not required, saving the company money and time. BYOD allows employees to work wherever they are with whatever device they feel comfortable working on. Giving employees more freedom and control over their situation, will give them greater aspiration to work harder. Setting up a cloud-based software and applying the settings to each laptop with ensure security for the work stations network. By setting executions and keeping control of privileged content, companies sensitive data will be protected. By having company’s employees work remotely, it cost the company more money, BYOD would save the company money on equipment and maintenance. With BYOD policy there are disadvantages like security and the fact that the device is not the companies could also be another problem.
